Holographic card skill
Makes a holographic trading card in the manner of The Ashen One: a scene and its depth, a hero cut out to stand in front of it, an ornate frame with a window and blank plates, a matching back, and a real-time 3D card made from them with Fil's card kit, with layered depth, rainbow foil, foil-stamped lettering, light and particles, that you can tilt, spin and flip. Use for trading cards, collectible cards, character cards and foil cards.
A SKILL.md for Claude Code, Codex and any agent that reads skills. It’s the craft behind Fil’s Holographic card workflow, written out so your agent can follow it too.
Install it
Unzip it into your agent’s skills folder. The agent reads its name and description, and the rest only when a task needs it.

Read first
Card.md for the name and the words, the hero, the scene, the look, the frame, the foil and the particles. A character or art wired in is the hero: keep it exactly as it is.
Every picture
- 2:3, in the Look from Card.md, by the same hand in every picture, so the hero belongs in the scene and the frame and back belong together.
- Each fills the whole picture edge to edge: no paper margin, border or rounded corners.
- No text, letters, numbers, logos or watermarks anywhere: the card sets its words itself.
Scene
- The place from Card.md, empty: no hero, no figure, nobody. The hero stands in front of it later, in the middle of the lower half, so keep that ground open and level, the floor in the lower third coming toward the viewer.
- Real depth: a near floor, a middle ground and a far distance that fades into atmosphere (haze, mist, fog or dark), so the card can push them apart.
- One light you can see, off to one side (a small fire, a lamp, a window, the moon, a sign), lighting the place and the air around it.
- A pale haze, mist or glow fills the distance behind where the hero will stand, lighter than the hero will be, so the hero reads against it; the near floor and the edges fall into shadow. Never a flat, evenly lit picture.
Depth map (from the scene)
A grayscale depth map of the wired scene, pixel-aligned: nearest white, farthest black, smooth gradients, the floor coming forward at the bottom, nothing of the scene's colour or light.
Hero
- Who or what Card.md names, whole from head to foot (ears to paws, crown to base), nothing cropped, standing or sitting upright and turned three-quarters to the viewer, about 85% of the picture's height, centred.
- Lit as the wired scene lights it: from the side its light is on, with a rim of that light's colour, in the scene's palette and Look.
- On a plain, flat, light grey background with nothing else: no ground, no shadow, no scenery, so it cuts out cleanly.
Frame
- A premium collectible card frame, perfectly straight-on, flat and left-right symmetrical, filling the whole picture edge to edge, its metal running right into all four corners: nothing around it, no table, no shadow, no perspective.
- In the style and metal Card.md gives, richly detailed: raised ornament and filigree that catch the light, small corner pieces, small gems if Card.md has them.
- One large central art window, about 70% of the width and 60% of the height, its top arched or shaped as the style suits, filled with one completely flat pure chroma green (#00FF00): no texture, gradient, shadow or glow.
- A wide plate across the top above the window and another across the bottom below it, each dark, flat and completely blank with a raised rim: no letters, numbers or symbols. Narrow side borders, about 6% of the width.
Back (from the frame)
The card's back in the wired frame's metal and colours: perfectly straight-on and symmetrical, edge to edge, a deep dark lacquered field with fine engraved line-work, one large round emblem in the middle that suits the card (a rose window, a sun, a crest, a sigil), small corner ornaments and a thin double border set in from the edge.
Holo card (code)
One page made with Fil's card kit, which builds the whole card from the pictures: write only this page.
<!doctype html><html lang="en"><head><meta charset="utf-8"><meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width,initial-scale=1">
<title>The card's name</title>
<script type="importmap">{"imports":{"three":"https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/three@0.170.0/build/three.module.js","three/addons/":"https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/three@0.170.0/examples/jsm/"}}</script>

font: 'Cinzel', foil: 'rainbow', particles: 'embers',
});
</script></body></html>- images: each attached picture's address exactly as listed, by what it shows: the scene, its depth map, the hero cut out on transparency, the frame with its green window, the back.
- The words exactly as Card.md spells them. font: the Lettering line's Google font. foil: rainbow, gold or silver. particles: embers, snow, petals, sparks, motes or none.
- Only when Card.md or the request asks: particleColor (a hex for petals or motes), ink (a hex for the small words), fog (0 to 1.5), hero: { scale, x, y } to move the hero (x and y in parts of the card's width and height).
- Nothing else on the page: the kit draws the card, its backdrop, the name in the corner and the hint.
Avoid
Text or borders in any picture, a figure in the scene, a hero cropped or standing on scenery, a frame at an angle or with anything around it, a window that isn't flat green, writing on the plates, and a page that builds the card itself instead of using the kit.
What it reads
It was written for Fil’s Holographic card workflow, which wires these into every step. Elsewhere, give your agent the same, or let it ask.

- Your heroYour character, creature or mascot for the card. Without one, the hero is painted for you.Optional
Questions
What does the Holographic card skill do?
Makes a holographic trading card in the manner of The Ashen One: a scene and its depth, a hero cut out to stand in front of it, an ornate frame with a window and blank plates, a matching back, and a real-time 3D card made from them with Fil's card kit, with layered depth, rainbow foil, foil-stamped lettering, light and particles, that you can tilt, spin and flip. How do I install it in Claude Code?
Download https://fil.design/skills/holo-card.zip and unzip it into ~/.claude/skills, or into a project’s .claude/skills folder, or run the command on this page. Claude Code reads the skill’s description and loads the rest when a request needs it.
Does it work in Codex and other agents?
Yes. Unzip it into ~/.codex/skills for Codex. It’s one SKILL.md file, so any agent that reads skills can use it, and you can paste it into a chat as well.
Do I need Fil to use it?
No. It was written for Fil’s Holographic card workflow, which wires in Card.md and Your hero: give your agent the same, or let it ask. In Fil, the workflow runs it with the best models and shows the price before anything runs.
Is it free?
Yes. The skill is free to download.
