Illustration set skill
Draws a set of illustrations that clearly belong together: one character design, one palette, one line and one texture. Use for spot illustrations, editorial art, onboarding art, stickers and blog headers.
A SKILL.md for Claude Code, Codex and any agent that reads skills. It’s the craft behind Fil’s Illustration set workflow, written out so your agent can follow it too.
Install it
Unzip it into your agent’s skills folder. The agent reads its name and description, and the rest only when a task needs it.
curl -fsSL https://fil.design/skills/illustration-set.zip -o /tmp/illustration-set.zip && unzip -o /tmp/illustration-set.zip -d ~/.claude/skillscurl -fsSL https://fil.design/skills/illustration-set.zip -o /tmp/illustration-set.zip && unzip -o /tmp/illustration-set.zip -d ~/.codex/skillsInstall the Illustration set skill from https://fil.design/skills/illustration-set: unzip https://fil.design/skills/illustration-set.zip into your skills folder (~/.claude/skills for Claude Code, ~/.codex/skills for Codex), then read its SKILL.md.The skill
Read first
Style.md for the subject, palette and finish; any style reference wired in. Every scene follows both.
One style across the set
- The same character design in every scene: proportions, face, colours and outfit; props and accessories (headphones, a scarf) keep their colours.
- The same background colour in every scene, so the set reads as one.
- One palette of at most five colours, from Style.md, including the background colour.
- One finish throughout (grainy gouache, clean vector, ink and halftone): the same edges, texture and shading.
- 4:3, one idea per picture, the subject large, a simple background in the palette and a little air around it.
- Each scene its own pose, framing and props for its moment: never the same composition with one detail changed, and small details (bubbles, stars) placed anew. A wired scene lends its character and finish only, never its pose or layout.
- Together the scenes make a little arc where they can (arrive, do, celebrate), each showing a different thing the subject does, every pose in the mood Style.md sets (a calm set celebrates calmly).
- Props that come back (a laptop, a desk, a mug, headphones) look the same in every scene, on the same side of the character.
SVG version
- Redraw the scene as flat shapes in a single SVG with a 4:3 viewBox: the same composition and palette, grain as small dots if at all.
- Keep every feature that makes the character: the face (eyes, mouth, cheeks), fins, ears or hands, as clean closed shapes joined without gaps or slivers.
- Group the parts (background, character, props) so they can be edited or animated.
Avoid
Text in the picture, extra characters, photographic detail, gradients that fight the palette and styles that drift between scenes.
What it reads
It was written for Fil’s Illustration set workflow, which wires these into every step. Elsewhere, give your agent the same, or let it ask.

Questions
What does the Illustration set skill do?
Draws a set of illustrations that clearly belong together: one character design, one palette, one line and one texture. Use for spot illustrations, editorial art, onboarding art, stickers and blog headers.
How do I install it in Claude Code?
Download https://fil.design/skills/illustration-set.zip and unzip it into ~/.claude/skills, or into a project’s .claude/skills folder, or run the command on this page. Claude Code reads the skill’s description and loads the rest when a request needs it.
Does it work in Codex and other agents?
Yes. Unzip it into ~/.codex/skills for Codex. It’s one SKILL.md file, so any agent that reads skills can use it, and you can paste it into a chat as well.
Do I need Fil to use it?
No. It was written for Fil’s Illustration set workflow, which wires in Style.md and Style reference: give your agent the same, or let it ask. In Fil, the workflow runs it with the best models and shows the price before anything runs.
Is it free?
Yes. The skill is free to download.
