This is the costume key art for the Frost Cantor
This is the costume key art for the Frost Cantor, the Sorceress, one of the four callings a player can choose at the pilgrims' fire in Thornwake, a dark-fantasy action RPG about an old forest that swallowed a fallen knightly order whose sigil is a ring of hooked thorns around an eclipsed sun disc. She sings her spells. It is the master reference a 3D character artist will model from, so every part of the costume must be clear, complete and correctly built. Use the reference image only for its rendering style, lighting, finish and level of craft: a hyper-detailed AAA game hero character rendered in real time with physically based materials. The Cantor's face, body, costume and colours are entirely new and described here. A full-length character render of the Frost Cantor, a tall, poised woman in her thirties with an elegant, pale, finely boned face, ice-blue eyes and sleek platinum-white hair falling straight past her shoulders, standing in a three-quarter front view. Her left hand is raised, palm up, and a slow spiral of small, sharp ice shards hovers above it, glowing pale blue; her right hand holds a tall staff. Her silhouette is a tall fan-shaped collar and a sweeping gown with a long train. The collar rises behind her head like a frozen halo: a fan of thin silver spines joined by frost-lace filigree and beaded with tiny clear ice crystals. A fitted cuirass of polished silver plates, shaped like the ribs of an ice cathedral and set with small sapphires, encloses her torso over a high-necked under-gown. The gown is deep midnight-blue velvet that pools into a long train behind her; over it falls a floor-length open mantle of sheer silver-white silk organza embroidered with branching frost ferns in silver thread, its hem scalloped and edged with tiny glass beads. Her long outer sleeves are split from shoulder to wrist and fall open like wings, showing forearms ringed by slender silver bands. A belt of linked silver plaques closes at the centre with the Thorned Sun as a pale silver clasp, from which a crystal tuning fork hangs on a fine chain. Her staff is a tall shaft of pale bleached birch bound in silver wire, crowned with a cage of curved silver thorns holding a floating faceted shard of ice that glows from within. The scene is illuminated by a large soft key light from the upper left, the cool ice-blue glow of the shards and the staff, and a pale silver rim light from behind, creating a serene, cold, otherworldly atmosphere, against a dark charcoal studio backdrop that falls off to black at the edges, on a dark polished stone floor. Framed like a long-lens 85mm shot at f/8 from chest height, so the whole figure from the top of the collar to the hem of the train is tack-sharp, with crisp micro-detail in the filigree, velvet pile, organza embroidery, silver and ice, and clean, precise edges against the backdrop. Her hands are anatomically correct with five fingers each, and every plate, seam and clasp is built logically. The whole figure fits in the frame with a little space above the collar and below the train; the image shows only the character and the backdrop, in a 3:4 portrait format.
