The map from Book.md, as the skill's map
The map from Book.md, as the skill's map: a hand-drawn ink and soft wash map on aged paper of the drowned cathedral city, with the bonfire in the ruined nave, a broken spire, a flooded cloister, a sunken bell tower, a furnace hall, an old stone bridge and the black waterline creeping inland, plus a compass rose. No names or lettering. Reference (Book.md): # Book - **Title:** The Last Bonfire - **World:** A drowned cathedral city of broken gothic arches and flying buttresses, half sunk in grey water and ash. Mist hangs between the ruins, a furnace glows far off in the nave, and one bonfire still burns on the cracked flagstones. - **Characters:** The Firekeeper: a weathered old woman in a patched grey cloak with the hood up, her lined face lit orange by the bonfire, holding a rusted sword that marks the flame. ## Plates - **Endpaper:** A tall view from high above the drowned cathedral city: spires, broken arches and buttresses sinking into grey water and mist, a single tiny orange bonfire glowing far below, with the sky calm and empty at the top. - **Plate I:** A quiet opening scene. The Firekeeper kneels by the bonfire on the cracked stone floor, feeding it driftwood, with sparks rising and the ruined arches fading into mist behind her. - **Plate II:** The danger appears. A dark flood of rising black water swallows the nave while the bonfire shrinks against it, and the Firekeeper stands at its edge with her cloak lifting in the cold wind. - **Plate III:** The Firekeeper at the decisive moment. She stands ankle-deep in black water before the failing bonfire, raising the rusted sword and shielding the last flame with her cloak, her face lit orange. - **Map:** The drowned cathedral city: the bonfire in the ruined nave, the broken spire, the flooded cloister, the sunken bell tower, the furnace hall, the old stone bridge and the black waterline creeping inland. - **Portrait:** The Firekeeper, holding the coiled sword that marks the bonfire, rust and ash along its edge. Reference (book-plates SKILL.md): --- name: book-plates description: Paints the plates of an illustrated book, its endpaper, map and character portraits, all in the exact style of one reference painting. Use for illustrated books, game art books, storybooks and lore pages. --- # Book plates ## Read first The style reference wired in sets the look for everything: its palette, brushwork, light and texture. Book.md says what each plate shows. ## Plates (3:4) - One moment per plate, painted in exactly the reference's style, palette and brushwork. - A clear focal point lit by a source you can see (fire, a lantern, the moon), with atmospheric depth behind it. - Characters keep their looks from Book.md and from plate to plate. - No text, border or frame: the plates go onto the page as they are. ## Endpaper (3:4) A tall, sweeping view of the world from high up, epic and busy at the edges and calmer at the top where the title will sit. ## Map (3:2) A hand-drawn map in ink and soft washes on aged paper: coastlines, rivers, and the places from Book.md drawn as small landmarks, with a compass rose. Leave names off: they're set in type in the layout, since lettering drawn in a picture comes out garbled. ## Portrait (3:4) One character at three-quarter length in ink with cross-hatching and a sepia wash on cream paper, holding the thing they're known for. ## Avoid Style drifting between plates, modern objects, readable text in plates, and faces that change.
