Fil · Try it free · Layers

One picture, taken apart into layers.

Fil lifts each element of a picture onto its own layer with Seedream 5.0: the subject, each line of text, the things around it, and the scene behind them with what they hid filled in.

Pictures with clear, separate things split best: a product, words on a backdrop, a character in a scene. Nothing is posted anywhere. Sign in with Google for one free try: what it makes is kept in your Fil account, and you join the waitlist.

How it works

  1. The picture: Any picture, made in Fil or yours.

Make one from a prompt on your canvas, or drop in a photo. Point at it, click Edit, then Split into layers.

  2. The layers: Each element on a layer of its own.

The picture comes apart into a stack, and its layers arrive one by one, each named for what it is. The bottom one is the background, with what was behind them filled in.

  3. More edits: Then see it from another side.

Every picture has the same Edit rail: Camera angle to reshoot it from elsewhere, Inpaint, Outpaint, Crop and free Effects, each kept beside the last.

Questions

What comes back?

Up to 16 layers, each a transparent picture named for what it is, such as Mug or Headline, and the background with what they hid filled in. Your picture is kept under them.

What can I do with the layers?

In Fil, move, resize and turn them, restyle or retype them, change one by describing it, add text and elements, then make it one picture again or play it as a video.

Which pictures split best?

Clear, separate things: a product, words on a plain backdrop, a character in a scene. Seedream’s safety check sometimes holds back a harmless picture; try another.

What does it cost in Fil?

A split holds 41 credits and is charged for what comes back, about 4.5 credits a layer for a 2K picture. Edits to the layers are free.

Is the try really free?

Yes, one try for each account. Fil pays for it, so there’s a daily limit: if it’s reached, come back tomorrow.
