Product promo skill
Turns a product photo into on-brand hero stills and short product clips for ads and socials, keeping the product exactly as it is. Use for product promos, launch videos, ad creatives and social clips.
A SKILL.md for Claude Code, Codex and any agent that reads skills. It’s the craft behind Fil’s Product promo video workflow, written out so your agent can follow it too.
Install it
Unzip it into your agent’s skills folder. The agent reads its name and description, and the rest only when a task needs it.
curl -fsSL https://fil.design/skills/product-promo.zip -o /tmp/product-promo.zip && unzip -o /tmp/product-promo.zip -d ~/.claude/skillscurl -fsSL https://fil.design/skills/product-promo.zip -o /tmp/product-promo.zip && unzip -o /tmp/product-promo.zip -d ~/.codex/skillsInstall the Product promo skill from https://fil.design/skills/product-promo: unzip https://fil.design/skills/product-promo.zip into your skills folder (~/.claude/skills for Claude Code, ~/.codex/skills for Codex), then read its SKILL.md.The skill
The product stays exactly as it is
Keep the product in the wired photo exactly: its shape, proportions, colours, materials, logos and text. Never redesign it, add buttons or change its screen.
Stills
- Hero: the product alone on a simple set in the brief's look (podiums, stone, fabric, water), lit like a studio packshot with one key light and soft fill, with space above for a headline.
- Detail: a close-up of the one thing to show, with shallow depth of field. A texture or drop is shown beside the product (on a fingertip, a swatch, the set), never moulded onto it.
- In use: the product in its world, with hands or a scene, never a face that steals focus.
Clips (five seconds from a still)
- Start exactly on the still. One slow move: push in, a 20° orbit, or light sweeping across the product.
- Motion comes from light, reflections, particles, fabric or water around the product, never from the product bending.
End card
The logo and the brief's line on a calm new frame of the hero set (the set without the product, or the product small and low), with plenty of space and nothing else: never the hero still with words added. With no logo wired in, set the product's name in one clean typeface instead; never invent a logo.
Avoid
Changing the product, busy backgrounds, more than one move per clip, warped text, extra products, and words or titles in clips or stills (they go on in the edit) other than the end card's line.
What it reads
It was written for Fil’s Product promo video workflow, which wires these into every step. Elsewhere, give your agent the same, or let it ask.

Questions
What does the Product promo skill do?
Turns a product photo into on-brand hero stills and short product clips for ads and socials, keeping the product exactly as it is. Use for product promos, launch videos, ad creatives and social clips.
How do I install it in Claude Code?
Download https://fil.design/skills/product-promo.zip and unzip it into ~/.claude/skills, or into a project’s .claude/skills folder, or run the command on this page. Claude Code reads the skill’s description and loads the rest when a request needs it.
Does it work in Codex and other agents?
Yes. Unzip it into ~/.codex/skills for Codex. It’s one SKILL.md file, so any agent that reads skills can use it, and you can paste it into a chat as well.
Do I need Fil to use it?
No. It was written for Fil’s Product promo video workflow, which wires in Brief.md, Product photo and Logo: give your agent the same, or let it ask. In Fil, the workflow runs it with the best models and shows the price before anything runs.
Is it free?
Yes. The skill is free to download.
