Page 2: beat 2 of Story.md in five panels. The turn: action and sound effects, one large panel for the moment everything changes. Reference (Story.md): # Story - **Title:** The Lamplighter's Daughter - **World:** A walled city of narrow stone streets and iron lamp posts under a huge red moon, where shadow demons crawl out of the dark corners when the lamps go out - **Lead:** Mina, 15, short black hair with a crooked fringe, a long patched navy coat with brass buttons, a red scarf, carrying her father's old brass lantern, who wants to find out why her father never came home - **Others:** Old Tomas: the night watchman, grey beard, a lantern pole. The Hollow: a tall shadow demon with a cracked white mask and long fingers - **Tone:** Dark fantasy, quiet and tense, with one burst of action and a hopeful last image ## Beats 1. Mina walks the empty streets at dusk under the red moon, lighting the lamps her father used to tend; one lamp down the lane has gone out, and the street beyond it is far too quiet. 2. The Hollow slides out of the dark and the lamps die one by one; Mina runs, is cornered at a dead end, and her lantern slips from her hand. 3. She grabs the lantern and it flares with a white-gold fire she has never seen; she swings it and the flame tears through the Hollow, which burns away into ash. 4. In the silence she lifts the lantern toward the red moon and understands why her father never came home; every lamp down the street flickers back on. Reference (manga-pages SKILL.md): --- name: manga-pages description: Draws manga pages, covers and character sheets in one consistent black-and-white ink style, with clear panel flow and lettering. Use for manga pages, comic pages, chapter covers and character sheets for a comic. --- # Manga pages ## Read first Story.md for the cast, the world and the beats; the character sheet and any style reference wired in. Every page keeps the faces, hair, outfits and props of the sheet. ## Page (2:3) - Black ink on white with screentone greys. One or two accent colours only if the story has them (a red moon, a glowing blade), used sparingly. - Four to six panels with clean white gutters, in the reading order Story.md asks for (left to right unless it says right to left). - Vary the shots: one wide establishing panel, mid shots for talk, a close-up for feeling, and one large panel for the page's key moment. - Speech in white balloons, at most 15 words each and two per panel, in a clean comic font. Sound effects hand-lettered into the art. - Thick outer contours, fine inner lines, solid blacks for depth and speed lines for motion. ## Cover (2:3) One strong full-bleed image of the lead, the chapter title lettered large and a chapter number. No panels. ## Character sheet (16:9) The cast at one scale on white: the lead first and largest, full-length, up to three others from Story.md beside them, and three head close-ups of the lead (calm, angry, surprised), with short name labels where they fit. The cover and every page draw the lead as this sheet does. ## Avoid Faces that change between panels, tiny text, colour everywhere, cluttered gutters, panels that skip the beats, and page numbers or captions nobody asked for.
