my leadership philosophy

As a design leader, my focus is squarely on outcomes rather than mere output, fostering a culture where team success and well-being take precedence. I trust my team implicitly, providing guidance and feedback when needed, but ultimately empowering individuals to make decisions in the best interest of both the company and our audience.

my approach

Priority 1:1s

Our weekly 1:1s are non-negotiable, held unless extremely rare exceptions. If you need urgent assistance, don't hesitate to reach out—I'm committed to your success and well-being.

2

Purposeful discussions

In our 1:1s, topics are pre-set, but it's your time. We'll discuss progress on goals, engage in two-way feedback, explore career and life goals, connect our work to the company's mission, goals, and strategy, and build a personal connection.

3

Autonomy

Your work is done your way. I prioritize outcomes over output. Once our goals are clear, your approach is your own. If guidance is needed, I'll provide examples and explanations, ensuring your autonomy remains intact.

4

Feedback & open discussions

Transparency, openness, and candor are valued. Regular feedback is a two-way street—I'll provide and seek it consistently. Your performance review won't introduce feedback for the first time. I encourage your thoughts, listen attentively, and respond without defensiveness.

5

Growth focus

I'm committed to your professional development. We'll regularly discuss your career goals and progress, ensuring that work assignments align with your aspirations. Together, we'll cultivate an environment of mutual benefit and growth.

building culture

In today's dynamic work landscape, fostering a healthy team culture is paramount. As a leader, I understand the significance of cultivating a positive and collaborative environment, having successfully shaped team cultures for both co-located and remote teams.

Whether navigating the challenges of a shared office space or the complexities of remote collaboration, my experience underscores the pivotal role that a healthy team culture plays in promoting resilience, adaptability, and sustained success.

my approach

Embracing authenticity

Be yourself. I advocate for authenticity at work, valuing each team member's unique qualities. Creating an environment where everyone feels free to be authentic fosters creativity, collaboration, and a strong sense of belonging.

2

Recognize and Appreciate

Acknowledge and appreciate the contributions of team members regularly. Publicly recognize achievements, celebrate milestones, and create a culture of gratitude to boost morale and foster a positive team atmosphere.

3

Invest in growth

Support the professional development of team members by offering opportunities for skill enhancement, mentorship programs, and career advancement. Align their growth with organizational goals to create a sense of purpose.

4

Promote Work-Life Balance

Acknowledge the importance of work-life balance by respecting personal time and setting clear boundaries. Encourage breaks and time off, ensuring that team members prioritize their well-being.

5

Enable collaboration

Foster a collaborative environment where team members feel empowered to share ideas, work cross-functionally, and collectively contribute to the team's success. Recognize and celebrate collaborative achievements.
